I read all the reviews and they were very mixed so I thought I would chance it. When I pulled up in the shuttle I was happy to see that the motel looked very clean. The front desk employees were very friendly, helping me with directions to the subway and to the airport after my transportation fell through. The motel room is outdated but very clean. The motel was 3 blocks away from the subway at Western and Hollywood that took me to the Kodak Theatre in minutes. I was only there to sleep so it was perfect for what I needed and the price was great.

I recently stayed at the America's best value inn. I arrived at 7pm the checkin attendant was very friendly and I checked in with no delay. The room was a nice size, clean, and neat. There was limited parking but we were always able to find paking within the hotel parking lot. We also did have a dog with us. The staff was aware we had a dog and did not have problems with that. That alone made it a WONDERFUL experience. I did break out from a allergic reaction from what turned out to be from the rental car but when i thought it may have been from the hotel room and I reported my concerns to the front desk they helped me with new bed sheets and were sympathic to my concerns. Overall We were pleased, happy and plan to book there AGAIN and AGAIN :)

“A-OK for the price”
Reviewed September 11, 2011
Free parking and wi-fi, pool, reasonably clean. This is on the lower end of LA hotel pricing structure. Not bad for the $77 including tax that we spent on this place. Staff was nice. We got there around 11pm and asked the guy behind the counter about late night dining options, after spouting out some chain joints, I asked if there might be something more locally owned or ethnic, he suggested Western Chicken around the corner, turned out to be quite a nice little surprise. Back to the hotel, it's cheap, so don't expect the world, while parking is free...it's T-I-G-H-T! Not complaining, just sayin'. The room was pretty clean, a little dinged here and there, but to be expected for a hotel in this price range in LA. Ironing board and iron in the room, frig and hair dryer too. Neighborhood slightly sketch, but not scary or anything, just not the trendy part of Sunset, still a very convenient location--lots of things to do close by. The ice machine was broken while I was there, turned out not to be too big of a deal as the 99-cent store across the street carries ice for a buck! Sweet! All in all, not bad for an LA cheapo hotel.

It's a good place to stay for the price and location. It's convenient because it's not too far from the 101 freeway entrances and exits and there are fast food places and a Walgreens down the street. Great mini fridge that's pretty tall for a mini and really good airconditioning which are important during the summer in Hollywood. Nice little pool too but didn't get to swim in it. Front desk are friendly and nice so that's a plus.

I booked for a couple of nights. The motel is sort of old but the room was clean, housekeeping staff very friendly, desk people were very helpful with booking tours, directions etc..
The motel is in sort of a seedy area so be careful if you go out walking at night. Lots of beggers. With that being said it's just a short drive or bus trip to walk of fame, and other attractions.
down side no coffee pot in rooms. You have to go to the front desk. Also parking is very tight. Other than that it's a good cheap place to spend the night. After all I was in the room just to sleep. The pool is very small, but was clean. This is not a luxury motel, just a clean place to sleep. Book if your looking to save a little money. If you want something really classy you'll have to go elsewear.

My boyfriend and I decided to go to LA for our 2 years anniversary. I was looking through expedia and found this really cheap hotel/inn. I guess I expected way too much for this hotel. We got to LA way early so I called the hotel if we can check in before 3. The front desk dude was really nice to let us check in at 12 pm. The room was clean but really small, good for 2. Bathroom was clean but no trash can inside. The air conditioner helps so much since it was way too hot in socal. The TV was alright but I think they only had regular channels. My bf thought the neighborhood was ghetto, but I think it was just fine. It was busy for sure cause there's fast food restaurants and stores everywhere. And to top that off, 99 cents store right across from the hotel! It was huge! They also have a pool at the back, we didn't go swimming but it looked legit. I enjoyed staying there, the staff were nice especially the guy in the front desk. Too bad they don't have microwave but they got a fridge though. Over all, I would recommend this hotel for couples on a vacation but not with family or kids because the rooms are really small. It's worth the pay though!

“Great No Frills Motel For the Price”
Reviewed June 30, 2011
You get what you pay for. Our room was clean and served its purpose, which was only a place to sleep while my husband and I had fun and explored LA/Hollywood during the day. Free internet was nice to have, as was free parking but be warned that there are a limited number of spaces and if you stay out late at night, there is a good chance that the lot will be full by the time you return. Rent a compact car if possible, some of the spaces are very tight. We did not take advantage of the "free breakfast" (juice, coffee, and a sweet bun). Instead we opted to have breakfast at the Denny's that is just up the road. The location is a quick drive to Hollywood tourist attractions (museum, walk of fame, etc.) and Universal Studios. There is a 24 hour Walgreens nearby which was convenient for toiletries, snacks, etc.
The neighborhood surrounding the motel is not the greatest. It is okay during the day but you will see some unsavory characters wandering the streets at night. I did not feel unsafe given that I grew up in a similar neighborhood, but still I would not recommend this motel for women or elderly people traveling alone at night. Also be aware that rooms face the parking lot and you will hear noise early in the morning as people load their cars, talk in the parking lot, etc. Other than that if you have no expectations of luxury or any "extras" this motel is a great bargain for those who just want a place to sleep at night.

Check in was easy, front desk polite and expedient. Room was nice, clean and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable! Limited space creates parking issues - had to have the front desk wake up a guest at 5:00AM to move their car so we could exit. Our room did not have a microwave, although it was pictured on the website. Location not the greatest part of town, but we knew that going in. Bonus: they have one of the largest 99 cent stores I've ever seen right across the street!

We stayed at Hollywood Best Value Inn for eight days at the beginning of August, 2010.
The room was what we needed just to sleep because we were out all day. The wi-fi was quite good and we used it a lot. The staff was kind and they helped us know the best way to go to different landmarks. The hotel's location is near the Metro Red Line, which was very useful for this purpose.
Breakfast consisted of a pastry and machine coffee, which is not much but it was alright.
At nights, there are homeless people everywhere. It's not a problem of just this location, although this neighborhood in particular could have better lightning.
To sum up, I'd recommend this hotel.

More than acceptable for the price!
I wasn't to sure what to think about the motel before I got there, so I just went ahead and made a reservation. So to my suprise, when I pulled up to the motel and found that the area was very decent with plenty of food options, and the motel itself looked nice, my worries faded some.
Upon getting checked in and heading to my room, I was once again pleased to find that the room was actually quite nice. I had reserved a king bed room, and the extra ammenities that came along with the room (which I believe are standard for all rooms) were very nice. The room had a fridge, microwave, computer desk with a lamp and all the other standard things.
It seemed as though the room had been remodeled somewhat recently, with nice tiling in the desk/sink area, as well as in the bathroom. One thing I was completely blown away by, was the comfort of the bed! For seeming like such a midscale motel, the bed was extremely comforatable.
The only one downside really that I would have to say would be the parking. The parking is somewhat limited and they do not have enough spaces for every room. But I was able to get a spot every night, so it wasn't much of a problem. The location of the motel is really nice as well. Close to the freeway, close to all the Hollywood attractions, etc.
I've traveled all over the world and have stayed in all sorts of hotels, and I also work in the hotel industry, so I feel I have a pretty good knowledge of a decent hotel when I see one. This was overall a very nice motel with a few added suprises. Very much worth the stay!

Though this hotel is a bit off the beaten track, with a bus stop just outside and about 6 blocks to the metro, for a $5 day pass we could go anywhere easily. Staff were uniformly friendly and helpful. Room was impeccably clean, including the small handy refrigerator. Amenities are very basic (thin rough towels, downscale soap/shampoo, breakfast consists of packaged sweet rolls and harsh coffee) but it is clean, safe, and inexpensive (we paid $83/night). Free wireless internet works okay in rooms very near the office. Neighborhood is very tacky but actually more convenient for a budget traveler than many, there is a 99 cents store, grocery, and pharmacy right across the street; we bought picnic and breakfast supplies. Other guests were foreign students/couples. My teenage daughter and I ended up here after discovering that local hostels do not allow anyone under 16, and some require a foreign passport! we were very happy and felt we got at least our money's worth and somewhat more than we expected. Note that this hotel is NOT in the "downtown" district for taxi fares to LAX, therefore our fare to the airport was $61 not the flat rate of $42 from downtown; I'd recommend negotiating taxi fare before heading out to the airport, if possible.

This Hotel was luxorious, looks like set up by a Interior Decorator Clean. Like new. Has fridge and Microwave. The staff was very nice. We Checked out 10 minutes late past 11 a.m. they were joking about it with no attitude.. We only stayed one night But if we stayed longer this would be our First Choice! Me & my wife stayed here for 3 week nights in February. The main reason we picked this hotel was price and it's location. While it's not in downtown Hollywood and I definitely wouldn't walk the streets at night it a short drive to everywhere we wanted to go. I could see parking at the hotel being a factor, as it seemed there was less spaces than there were rooms, but we never had a problem.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Giving us directions and maps to some out of the way places we wanted to visit (Venice Beach was one). Even pointing out different routes, because of traffic.
The rooms are very small, however they looked to be newly remodeled. The shower/tub had nice granite tile surround.
The only complaint is that the walls are paper thin. We could hear our neighbor's television, and door slamming when they came home at 3 in the morning. Also, the lack of a coffee maker, iron, ironing board should be noted! There's a decent sized fridge so we went over to the market across the way to pick up some items.
It was everything we expected, and I'd stay there again.

No coffee maker in room but complimentary coffee & danish pastires available every morning in reception OK not a buffet but what do you expect for the price. Did not hire a car but appeared to be planty of parking spaces avialable for those that had. Locality not the best but never felt threatened. Local transport very good with bus stop just outside hotel and underground less than 10 mins walk way $3 a day for unlimited travel. Not many eateries in local area but many available just short bus journies away. Would definately stay at this hotel again a good frindly hotel for the budget traveller.
